Set Up the Robot

Light it up!

Follow instructions in the provided Quick Start Guide (printed or electronic) to complete hardware setup and boot up the robot.

Caution

Before proceeding, make sure the robot is securely mounted onto a steady base and won’t topple over when moving at a high speed with sudden stops.

Connect the UI tablet

Follow instructions in the Quick Start Guide to connect the UI tablet (teach pendant) to the robot. Make sure you can use the Flexiv Elements software pre-installed in the UI tablet to enable (servo on) the robot and see the sensor data.

Note

When using RDK, Flexiv Elements is still needed to take care of some auxiliary operations.

Operations that are done in Flexiv Elements when using RDK:

1. Enable/disable Remote mode for RDK.

2. Enable free drive, see Free Drive.

3. Confirm the switch from Manual to Auto or Auto (Remote) mode, see Enter Remote mode.
